Guitarist Bill Frisell's multi-faceted music reflects an extraordinarily wide range of inspiration. He has reinterpreted songs by musicians as diverse as Bob Dylan, Aaron Copland, Chet Atkins, Junior Wells and The Beatles. And like Miles Davis, Frisell's music is built from pure sound and inflection that is both instantly identifiable and universally celebrated.
One of the great pioneering guitarists of our era. Frisell's compositions mixing rock and country music with jazz and blues have found what connects them: improvisation, conviction, tenderness, and a constant sense of exploration and play.
Since his early studies with mentor Jim Hall, Frisell has recorded dozens of albums, including the recent "Guitar in the Space Age", his homage to guitar greats of the 50's and 60's who spurred him to pick up the instrument in the first place. We are pleased and honored to offer this classic album to the 32 Bar Blues audience.
Bill Frisell was our Spring 2017 featured artist and we have sold out of our seasonal supply of his CD, but you can purchase direct from the artist. For more info, click here. |
