Twenty years ago this fall, visionary jazz producer, record label owner, and Jazz Foundation of America honorary founders board member Hank O'Neal compiled a special charity album to promote and support the JFA's Musicians' Emergency Fund. Combing his archive of more than 200 jazz album productions, Hank selected 16 favorite pieces for the limited-edition "One Good Turn" CD - which included rare cuts from legendary players like Lionel Hampton, Gerry Mulligan, Joe Williams, Mary Lou Williams, Milt Hinton, Clark Terry, and a never-before pairing of Dizzy Gillespie & Buddy Rich.
Through a special partnership between 32 Bar Blues, The Jazz Foundation of America, and Hank's Chiaroscuro Records, we're thrilled to offer the 20th Anniversary Re-Release of "One Good Turn" on compact disc. 100% of the profits from its sale will be sent directly to the Jazz Foundation's Musicians' Emergency Fund.
